Places near Tagaytay: Go historical
There are a lot of places with historical importance near Tagaytay that we’ve decided to put them in one slot.
For example, there’s the Mabini Shrine in Barrio Talaga, Tanuan in Batangas. This is the house of the revolutionary hero and “Brains of the Katipunan,” Apolinario Mabini, where all his writings and memorabilia– as well as his remains– are kept.
Also located in Tanuan is the Jose P. Laurel Memorial Library, a historical site and public library donated to the Philippine government by the family of the late President Jose P. Laurel.
On the other hand, there are many places you can go to in the heritage town of Taal in Batangas. For example, there is the Marcela N. Agoncillo national landmark, which is the birthplace of Marcela N. Agoncillo.

If you’re up to enjoy the beauty the nature, why not visit Mount Makiling near Los Baños? The mountain– which is actually a dormant volcano– is a forest reserve and an ASEAN Heritage Park.
If you like, you can spend the day doing a beginner-friendly hiking trip up the mountain. Or you can just spend some quiet, contemplative time amidst the lush nature of the forest.
Speaking of Los Baños, you can also visit the University of the Philippines chapter in Laguna. The UP Los Baños campus is wide and expansive like its cousin in Diliman, but even more immersed in nature.
