Get healthy with Zumba and Yoga in Tagaytay

If you’re wondering what to do while in Tagaytay, have you ever thought of doing something healthy like Zumba and Yoga?

At The Junction Tagaytay, you now have the option of keeping fit even while you’re on your staycation or if you have a break during your weekend seminar.

Benefits of Zumba and Yoga

What are the benefits of Zumba and yoga? First of all, these two are separate exercises and they give you different benefits.

Yoga is a more mental and spiritual practice, though it also has its own physical aspect. It helps in your breathing, relaxes and restores you, even as it helps reduce your stress. Other forms of yoga can also help in reducing weight.

Zumba is newer, having only come into the fore a few years ago. Similar to other dance routines, it is a Latin American-inspired cardio-dance workout that uses music and different choreographed dance steps like salsa, merengue, and cha-cha to get you to burn 400 to 600 calories an hour.

(Of course, though the dance and music can be Latin American-inspired, others can also use jazz or African beats for music.)

History of Zumba and Yoga

There are many types of yoga. Yoga originated from India 5,000 years ago and introduced to western culture in the late 1800s. However, it only gained popularity in the 1980s.

On the other hand, Zumba appeared in the mid-’90s when dance instructor Alberto “Beto” Perez created it on the fly when he realized he had forgotten to bring his dance program to his class and had only Latin-American music in his car.

Aside from the cardio-centric Zubma, there are also Zumba for kids, for seniors, and even for water and resistance training. What’s more important is that though Zumba is a dance exercise class, you don’t need experience or skills to do Zumba.
