Bells & Whistles Restaurant at The Tagaytay Junction is going all out for the third and final event in the One Night Only series with “Build Me Up Buttercup.”
This last One Night Only dance will be held this September 24, Saturday. Buffet will be at 7 pm with the dancing set to start around 8 pm.
Playing for that night will be the Big Bash Band.
One Night Only Series
One Night Only: Build Me Up Butter Cup follows in the footsteps of the One Night Only series. The last one was held August 27 with the USSR Band playing.
The first One Day Only was held last July 30, also with the USSR Band.
First established in 2002, the USSR Band is a family band. Their name, after all, means “Uncles, Sons, Siblings, & other Relations.” The band is led by the Nacino brothers: Jun, Vic, Bobby, Jote, and Tony.
However, for the final chapter of the One Night Only, the live band will be the Big Bash Band, which is known for getting their ’70s groove on.
They’re known for playing in various venues like the Richmonde Hotel in Eastwood and Ortigas.
Build Me Up Buttercup
The last One Night Only is entitled “Build Me Up Buttercup,” a song by Mike d’Abo and Tony Macaulay and performed by The Foundations in 1968.
Colin Young sang lead vocals in this song, replacing Clem Curtis in 1968. It became the number 1 hit on the Cash Box Top 100, number 2 hit in the UK, and number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1969.
The song went Gold by the RIAA, selling over a million US copies.
